Water enthusiasts such as those spending the summer on the lake swear by these barrels to store their gear. They are made of durable heavy grade virgin polyethelene plastic and are completely watertight, having a screw top and a clamp seal keeps the contents safe and dry.

The barrels come in two convenient sizes: 30 litre or 60 litre.

There are also harness available to offer a very comfortable solution to getting that awkward barrel through a tough portage. Made from 600 Denier polyester fabric with a padded hip belt, padded lumbar and back pad and shoulder straps. Grab handles allow for easy lifting out of boat or car.

This is also a good solution and can be used as a Bug Out Bag (BOB) when it comes time to Get Out Of Dodge (GOOD) When The Sh!t Hits The Fan (WTSHTF)…

I personally have a 60L harness and barrel in my truck which keeps my comprehensive 72 hour emergency gear safe and dry. I intend to prepare three more smaller 30L harness and barrel combinations; one for my wife’s car and two more (just in case).

“An emergency is much less of an emergency if you have planned for it!”

Also consider if the grid goes down, and the city water supply stops!? The barrel-harness combination is an excellent and extremely efficient way to fetch and carry water. You may have to hike a few miles to get to a good source of water, and you may need your hands free for your security if you know what I mean.

My only criticism is the color scheme on the harness. I would have preferred a flat natural color rather than the bright red straps, but whatever, I am sure they where thinking somewhat aesthetically when they designed it! Regarding the bright blue barrel, I am sure that there are camouflage covers available to hide the barrels.

Hopes this helps… leave any feedback or your thoughts below or on our Facebook page @ The 7 G’s or email me at info@the7gs.ca
